Sun and Co Coworking and Coliving in Spain

Sun and Co Javea

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to get a space to work and live at Sun and Co the coworking and coliving space in Jávea / Xàbia in Spain when they were celebrating their two year anniversary and haven’t had a chance to write about my time there until now…

Jávea

Jávea itself is a small coastal town North of Alicante which I travelled to from Alicante airport via a hire car I had pre booked from the UK for under €50 for the week! I was there in early October and apart from one day we had a consistent temperature of 25c or above every day which was exactly what I was looking for coming from an autumnal UK and lacking in vitamin D!

The town itself has a large mountain called Montgó looming over it which from one side looks like a Gorilla’s face staring up at the sky and from the other an elephant. Luckily I wasn’t there in the summer when apparently it can get pretty busy so I was able to wander the streets, eat cheaply and easily and generally have a stress free time away from the crowds you get at peak times. From my time in Jávea though it’s easy to see why it does get so busy as it has everything most people are looking for in a Spanish coastal location plus more charm than many other locations with its historic centre and very friendly locals.

Edu created the amazing space from his grandparents old 19th-century house and the transformation he has performed is incredible – if you ever see the before and after pictures it’s pretty hard to even believe it’s the same building!

Alongside Edu, Jon is your main point of contact before and upon arrival and the pair of them couldn’t have been more helpful answering any questions I had and making me feel welcome.

The house is located right in the middle of the historical old part of Jávea with the beach a pleasant 20 minute or so walk from the house. The house has a large shared modern kitchen, quick WiFi, quieter office space as well as a Skype room you can book for important client calls.

As it was the second anniversary there were a few special extra events set up for us all whilst we were there such as an amazing private boat trip snorkelling around the coast and a traditional paella at a fisherman’s cottage. However I genuinely got the feeling that the atmosphere created by the staff and the house would be as good even when not there on such a special occasion which a lot of the people who had been before confirmed.

HUGE thanks to everyone I met at the house, in Jávea and the amazing staff for making me feel so welcome and I hope to return ASAP!
